What to wear when interviewing?

4 phút đọc

Whatever you wear to the interview is very important. A “smart”, “fit” appearance is equally convincing how you answer recruitment questions. ViralHire would like to share the form of clothing should and should not wear for a normal job interview in the business environment.

First, study the company culture to find out how solemn the employees are in the workplace. If you review the company’s website and social media accounts and still don’t determine the dress code, ask the company’s recruitment clue directly. Simply put, you want to know the right dress code for the upcoming interview.

You should also consider your position and industry. For example, if you come to an interview at a company in the financial sector or law, it is clear that a serious business outfit will be safe. For less formal positions and offices, you will have more options with “business casual”.

What to wear for an interview is also quite important

What is business Casual?

Although there is no definite definition, business casual usually means to dress professionally but not too formally. It is more polite than jeans and T-shirts but more comfortable than the suits attending the event. It’s almost always the right outfit for companies and a smart choice for interviewing in most industries.

For example Business Casual for women

Simple shirt, professional

– Buttoned shirts, simple shirts.

– Outerwear: cardigan, navy blue blazer or sweater (except summer).

Neutral colors, simple pattern

– Avoid too thin or oversized tops, do not fit, the collar is too late, and the fabric is easily wrinkled.

– Simple elongated skirts that combine belts.

Trousers or skirt legs

– Colored trousers or pencil skirt (knee-length or longer).

– Black, blue or dark.

– Khaki material or cotton pants stand.

– Shirts when wearing the same shirt for a neat look.

  Business Casual for women

Comfortable nose closed shoes

– Closed-toe shoes or sandals-flat, high heels, low soles.

– Black, brown.

– Do not wrinkle, scratch or dirty.

– Avoid: multi-string sandals, flip flops, ultra-high-heeled pairs of leg lifts, sneaker or over-sesame shoes.

Simple accessories

– Simple ring or rivet earrings, slender necklace and 1 – 2 simple bracelets.

Avoid large-sized bracelets, necklaces and earrings, making a buzzing or disturbing sound.

– If you paint your nails, choose a gentle color, pastel tones.

Business Casual for men

Shirt with neck with long sleeves

– Light fresh color, pre-Vin.

-Simple or one-color pattern tie (not required in many offices).

– Outerwear gray, black, or charcoal blue (except summer).

Avoid wearing polo shirts.

Chinos or trousers

– Cotton fabric, chinos or khaki.

– Neutral colors such as gray, black, brown and sea blue (easy to combine with many shirt colors).

– Some places accept dark jeans.

Dark shoes with socks of the same color

– Dark, polished leather shoes.

– Brown or black loafers, lacing shoes, Oxford or polite toe shoes to enhance your outfit.

Be sure to bring your stockings to the calf level, matching the color of your pants.

– Avoid sports socks.

Simple accents

– Classic wristwatch with metal or leather strap.

– Avoid distracting Jewelry: earrings, necklaces or bracelets, large multi-colored rings.

– Leather belts are almost identical to shoe colors

– Simple leather handbags, rectangular or square shape.

Final step: rehearse the costume

Try on your complete outfit 1 day before the interview to make sure everything fits well, is clean and professional. Check if there are wrinkles, stains, holes, or pet hair. Pay attention to clothes that absorb sweat well, cool – you will not want to sweat profusely when answering interviews.

Avoid it when interviewing.

– Flip flops and open-toed slippers, without rear straps.

– Multi-colored shoes.

– Three-hole shirt or thin shirt.

– Shorts.

– Exposed underwear (shorts, briefs, bra straps slipping down the shoulders or lingerie of a conspicuous striking color…).

– The skirt is too short (check by standing upright, swept hands on the sides – if the skirt is shorter than the fingertips means too short).

– Shirts are too big.

– Perfume or body spray that smells too strong (in a small meeting room, a strong smell can be unpleasant or distracting).

With these tips, ViralHire believes that you will have a polite, bright and professional appearance in the eyes of employers.
